Bill Livingston thinks Terrelle Pryor is Holding Ohio State Back
Isn't it amazing how blinding and irrational fans hatred in sports can be? Fans, especially vested ones who love their schools college football team, where loyalty and passion cloud better judgement, can find a way to overlook glaring flaws. I mean the SEC believes they have the toughest conference in all of college football, even though they only have one quarterback in Jevan Snead
who is capabe and required to constantly win games with his arm. And no, as great as Tim Tebow
is, avg around 22 passes a game with arguably the fastest offense around doesn't count. The Pac 10 argues they are the best, even though USCover inflates their numbers. BYUwants respect even though most of their players are old enough to be third year players in the NFL.
But never has hatred been so blinding and obvious from my standpoint as when I read Bill Livingston's column questioning the maturity of Terrelle Pryorbecause he had "Vick" painted on his eyeblack patch. Now Bill might have a point in questioning the maturity of Pryor's interviewing etiquette given his comments when asked about Vick recently , comments where it was obvious where is attention seemed to trail off for a few seconds. But questioning whether or not Pryor can lead this Ohio St. Buckeye offense are absurd, if not for the fact that he seemed quite comfortable in the role last year as a true freshman, but also it's not like the Buckeyes have any better options at the moment.
Whether or not Pryoris capable of taking this team to the next level seems mute when looking at the obvious wholes that this team has on both the offensive and defensive side of the ball (in case you missed their near stinker vs Navy). It appears that Livingston has allowed his, and a large part of the dog loving nation, views on the heinous acts that Michael Vick has already served time for to miss those points. Comparing Pryor's acts to those of Maurice Clarett (who filed a false police report, was involved in an academic scandal, and accepted thousands of dollars in special benefits) was just blind hatred. Its was also plain lazy.
